Roosevelt School District Kindergarten Roundup
Kindergarten Roundup is an event where we welcome our incoming kindergarteners and their families to our schools, providing them with an opportunity to learn more about their unique campus. They will meet the teachers and school administrators, discuss kindergarten readiness, and get excited about beginning their academic journey.
During the event, our principals read a story to our potential scholars that will encourage and excite them as they begin formal education. Each school site creates a unique experience for our families and provides them with information about their specific campus. Each family receives a school readiness bilingual kit that contains books, supplies, and a family guide with activities that support kindergarten readiness.
This event gets our kindergartners and their families excited about learning, while also providing an opportunity for them to meet our site leaders, kindergarten teachers and enroll students for the upcoming academic school year. An event like this can reduce the stress and anxiety for our children entering kindergarten, allowing for a smoother transition to formal education.
If families missed the in-person event, they can attend the virtual Kindergarten Roundup, hosted by our district literacy coaches, May 11 from 5 to 6 p.m.
