Roosevelt School District lead nurse Marie Rico recently earned her National Board Certification for school nursing. Nurse Rico started with the district nine years ago at Valley View Leadership Academy after completing her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Grand Canyon University. She took over as lead nurse in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nurse Rico would like to dedicate her achievement to her amazing team of nurses and techs, as well as her late father, who passed away 10 days after completing her test. He couldn’t see her formal recognition or certificate, but she knows he would be and is very proud of all her accomplishments.
