The middle school students at Ed and Verma Pastor school are building excellence through belonging this school year. The sixth, seventh and eighth graders are working together in a house system to build camaraderie, promote teamwork and stay engaged in learning - similar to the houses in the popular Harry Potter series.
As we continue to support our community throughout the pandemic, we wanted to share an update of the practices that are in place. We’ve broken them down into three categories. Practices that we have continued, those we have scaled back, and those that have been discontinued. As I’ve continued to share, everything is dependent on context as we are prepared to shift and respond to the ever-changing landscape.
On Thursday, Aug. 11, Roosevelt hosted a back-to-school vaccination event. More than 130 students came to Bernard Black to get their immunizations updated for this school year. Lead Nurse Marie Rico worked with Community Engagement and Maricopa County Department of Public Health to make this event successful.
