Hello Chavez Community, For months, our Roosevelt team has been eagerly planning and preparing for the launch of school on August 3, 2020. We have continued to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in our state and local community and have made our decisions based on what we feel is best for the safety and well-being of our community. As you know, Governor Ducey signed an executive order that delays the start of in-person learning until Aug. 17. We understand the importance of students being physically in the classroom with their teachers. However, we must protect and prioritize the health and well-being of our students, their families, and our staff. Therefore, as a district, Roosevelt will provide all students remote learning only beginning August 3, 2020 until after fall break, which is October 5-9, 2020. This decision will help ensure the safety of our families, staff and community.
Message from the Superintendent Regarding Returning to School
July 31, 2020
Hello Roosevelt Community,
To begin, I would like to thank our entire Roosevelt community for your continued patience and support as our district prepares to begin the 2020-2021 academic year. Our district staff has been diligently planning to begin our school year virtually on Aug. 3, 2020, and we are eager to continue offering the highest level of innovative learning to our amazing Roosevelt students.
As many of you may know, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued an executive order last Thursday detailing new parameters for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. While our team is still working through the plans relating to these guidelines, I would like to provide you with a brief update on how Roosevelt is positioned to welcome our students and staff back for the upcoming school year.
